“The execution of this modern and engaging environment is a direct result of the collaboration between all of the key partners involved and we are proud to have taken part in such a well considered project.” David Murphy, EFG Managing Director.
The University had a strong and considered vision for the Library and wanted to re-establish the building as the heart of the campus. The library’s new-look needed to inspire, surprise and delight! Working closely with CPMG Architects, Kier Construction and Teesside University from an early stage, we were able to deliver a solution driven by user insight.
For the library to become a key part of student life, the re-design had to be driven by the different stages of the learner journey. Whether that
be group work or self driven study. The new furniture supports a rich variety of learning styles and activities, engaging a much wider range of the student body than ever before. Improvements to the library include a range of flexible and adaptable learning spaces for both individual and group use.
With many areas featuring products with integrated technology such as EFG’s Surround Me pods - the library now better meets the needs
of their student body and will accommodate more students and staff.
